Questions people usually ask

  • A Tripmate is somewhere between a guide, local friend, travel companion, and trip organizer. My goal is to help you experience a destination in a more authentic and stress-free way.

  • Ukraine (Odesa, Kyiv, Lviv, Carpathians, front line cities), Spain, Portugal, Albania, Switzerland, Romania, Italy, and more on request. If you have a destination in mind that's not listed — ask. If I've been there and know it well enough to guide it properly, we'll make it work.

  • My time, presence, and full attention for the duration of the trip. That means route planning, itinerary building, restaurant and venue selection, real-time navigation, translation, local introductions, and honest advice about everything — where to go, what to skip, what things actually cost. You don't need to research anything. I've already done it.

  • Flights, accommodation, food and drinks, activity entry fees, and transport costs (fuel, tickets, taxis) for both of us. These are your expenses — I help you plan and navigate them, but I don't cover them. Everything is agreed and transparent before we start.

  • Yes — most of my clients do. Solo travel with a local companion is actually the best format for this kind of trip. You get total flexibility and real local access without the isolation of figuring everything out alone.

  • Yes — for the full duration of the service we've agreed upon. For city tours, I'm your private guide, leading the experience, sharing local stories, and helping you discover the destination beyond the guidebooks. For multi-day trips, road trips, and private adventures, my role is closer to a travel companion (tripmate) than a traditional guide. Think of it as traveling with a knowledgeable friend who already knows the destination, the hidden gems, the best local spots, and how to avoid common tourist mistakes. My service typically covers 8–10 hours per day, depending on the itinerary. Outside of those hours, you're free to enjoy your own plans, relax, explore independently, or simply recharge. This balance allows you to have support, local insight, and good company when you need it—without feeling like you're on a guided tour every minute of the day.

  • Let's use Portugal, 4 days:My guiding fee — €240/day × 4 = €960Flights from Western Europe — approx. €100–250 return per person. Total €200–500.Accommodation (mid-range, central) — approx. €80–120/night × 4 = €320–480 per person.Food and drinks (2 people) — approx. €80–120/day × 4 = €320–480Car rental — approx. €40–70/day × 4 = €160–280Entry fees, tips, extras — approx. €50–100Total €2000 +
Every trip is different. Write to me with your dates and I'll give you an exact breakdown within 24 hours.

  • Yes. Thousands of foreign visitors continue to travel to Ukraine each year for business, volunteering, journalism, family visits, and tourism-related purposes. However, travel requires flexibility, awareness, and proper planning.
I provide honest information about current conditions, help you understand what to expect, and assist with logistics so you can make an informed decision before traveling.
